Features Of Evening Programmes

These are some features of evening programs:

1. Reduced Weekly Hours

Most evening programs offer lectures within a short duration in the evenings. Unlike regular daytime lectures, evening programs may take a few hours, and then everything is wrapped up. Usually, the evening lecture programs may be designed once or twice a week. In addition to that, it may span for two or three hours in those days.

2. Flexible Programme Style

In some evening programs by some institutions, they may offer lecture programs in a manner that is comfortable for the student. This could involve using video conferencing platforms such as Zoom or WhatsApp Calls to conduct lectures for students. All of this is done to ease the stress since the majority of those attending evening programs are working-class individuals.

As stated earlier, evening programs are part-time programs. They are not full-time programs. Most institution understands that, and as such, they ensure that the programs take features of normal part-time programs to help individuals, knowing that these individuals may have family responsibilities, working class, and other activities to handle.

Polytechnics Offering Flexible Nursing Classes

Below is a list of polytechnics that offer part-time evening programs for working students in nursing:

1. Federal Polytechnic Nekede 

Program: Evening and Weekend ND/HND programs in nursing-related courses.

2. Federal Polytechnic Bida (Bida, Niger State) 

Program: Evening and Weekend HND courses are available through the School of Applied and Natural Science.

3. Federal Polytechnic Oko (Anambra State)

Program: Evening ND programs in nursing.

4. Federal Polytechnic Ado‑Ekiti 

Program: Evening ND and HND programs are available in related courses.

5. Kaduna Polytechnic

Program: Offers part-time ND and HND programs in related courses.

Other polytechnics include Bauchi Polytechnic, Auchi Polytechnic, and Ilaro Polytechnic also offer daily part-time evening HND and ND programs. However, there are nursing-specific courses. Only related science courses can be achieved with this.

Requirements for Evening (Part-Time) Programmes

Here are documents that you should have handy in applying for evening classes at these polytechnics:

1. Academic Requirements

Ensure that you have your O’Level certificate with you. Your WAEC/NECO/GCE is accepted in not more than two sittings. In those two sittings, you should also have at least 5 credits in relevant subjects. These relevant subjects could include:

Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

2. Age

Eligible candidates must be at least 6 years old. Your original and photocopies of your birth certificate should also be readily available upon application. If you own an Age Declaration certificate, you can also submit that too.

3. JAMB Results

The JAMB Results should be available for submission upon request.

4. Application Form

The polytechnic application form can be found in their portal. So, ensure that you download and fill out the form with the correct details. You could also obtain the form by walking into the Admissions Office of the polytechnic premises.

5. Passport Photographs

A recent passport photograph is a plus to finalize the application. Your passport photograph should be clear and show your eyes, ears, and other parts of your face brightly. In most cases, your polytechnic would indicate what color background they want for your passport photograph. So, read the instructions from your polytechnic on the admissions process.
