The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new Profile Email Service designed to help candidates regain access to their profiles if they lose their registered SIM cards.
This new measure aims to address a persistent challenge faced by thousands of candidates each year who are locked out of their JAMB accounts after losing the phone number they used during registration.
In the past, retrieving a lost JAMB profile was difficult, often requiring extensive verification processes at JAMB offices. With the introduction of this Profile Email Service, candidates can now initiate recovery faster, without unnecessary delays that could impact admission timelines.
According to JAMB, this service will allow candidates to update their profile email addresses securely, making it easier to receive vital notifications, reset passwords, and complete admission processes.
How the New Profile Email Service Works
Here’s how candidates can use the Profile Email Service:
- Visit Any Accredited JAMB Office or CBT Centre
Candidates must visit an official JAMB facility to verify their identity in person. - Provide Valid Identification
This could include a national ID card, voter’s card, or any government-issued document. - Request Profile Email Update
Once identity is confirmed, candidates will be able to link a new email to their JAMB profile. - Receive Confirmation
After successful processing, all future communication and password resets will be sent to the updated email.
JAMB emphasized that this process is strictly regulated to protect candidates against identity theft and fraud.
