JAMB SIM Swap and Email Change: How to Update Your Details If You Lost Access

Lost access to the phone number or email address you used for JAMB registration?
JAMB has introduced a new process that allows candidates with genuine cases to update their GSM number and/or email address through a controlled verification process. JAMB’s official website currently lists the service as the “Profiled Email” service to substitute Lost SIM.
The service started on 21 September 2026 and is available only at designated JAMB CBT, PTC or PRC centres, including JAMB State Offices where applicable.
Who can use the service?
This is mainly for candidates who have genuinely lost access to their registered SIM, email address, or both.
It is not a normal service for casually changing your details. JAMB says the process is subject to strict identity and biometric verification.
How to change your JAMB SIM or email
Follow these steps:
1. Log in to your JAMB e-Facility
Use your existing JAMB credentials, Registration Number or Profile Code.
2. Select “SIM Swap/Email Change Payment”
Make the required payment for the service.
3. Visit a designated JAMB centre
Go to a designated JAMB CBT, PTC or PRC centre and access the SIM Swap/Email Change Quicklink.
4. Enter your details
Enter your Profile Code or existing GSM number and select “Fetch Details.”
5. Complete biometric verification
You will need to complete the required biometric verification to confirm your identity.
6. Select what you want to change
Choose the service you need:
• GSM number only
• Email address only
• Both GSM number and email address
7. Enter your new details
Enter your new GSM number and/or email address and upload your scanned Court Affidavit as required.
8. Complete the update
Click “Update” to complete the process. A confirmation message will appear when the update is successful.
Important things to know
The service is available only once, so candidates should make sure the new phone number and email address they provide are correct and accessible.
JAMB also advises candidates to use only designated centres and avoid unauthorised individuals or channels when trying to change their details.
JAMB has historically treated the phone number and email used for registration as important credentials for subsequent transactions, so candidates should keep their new details safe.
