How to link BVN to GTBank in Nigeria

What’s BVN and Why Do You Need It?

Before we get into the Steps, let’s quickly talk about what BVN is. BVN stands for Bank Verification Number. It’s like a unique ID for all your bank accounts in Nigeria. Linking your BVN to your GTBank account helps keep things secure and makes your banking Safer.

Method 1: Using the GTBank Mobile App

Step 1: Open the App

First things first, grab your phone and open the GTBank mobile app. If you don’t have it yet, download it from your app store.

Step 2: Log In

Log in using your account details. If you’re new to the app, you’ll need to set it up first, but don’t worry, it’s straightforward.

Step 3: Navigate to the BVN Section

Once you’re in, look for the menu icon and tap on it. From the menu, select the “BVN Link” option.

Step 4: Enter Your BVN

Now, just type in your BVN in the space provided. Double-check to make sure you’ve got the numbers right.

Step 5: Submit

Hit the “Submit” button and voilà! Your BVN is now linked to your GTBank account.

Method 2: Using GTBank’s USSD Code

Step 1: Dial the Code

Grab your phone and dial *737*20#

You’ll get some prompts on your screen, Choose the BVN linking Option and Enter your BVN.

Make sure this is done on the number linked to your GTBank account. and you’re done!

Step 2: Navigate to BVN Section

Once logged in, look for the “BVN Link” option. It’s usually under the “Account Services” tab.

Step 3: Enter Your BVN

Type in your BVN and hit submit.

Step 4: Confirmation

You should get a confirmation message that your BVN has been successfully linked.

Method 4: Visit a GTBank Branch

Step 1: Go to the Bank

If you prefer face-to-face interaction, just head to any GTBank branch near you.

Step 2: Fill Out a Form

Ask for a BVN linking form, fill it out, and hand it over to the bank staff.

Step 3: Confirmation

They’ll process it for you, and you’ll get a confirmation once it’s done.
