Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has assured candidates affected by technical glitches during the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that they will be given another opportunity to sit for the exam.

The assurance followed reports that some candidates experienced disruptions at certain Computer Based Test (CBT) centres, with complaints ranging from login failures to system interruptions during the examination.

In response, JAMB said it was already aware of the technical issues and promised that affected candidates would not be disadvantaged. The board explained that arrangements were being made to reschedule the examination for all candidates whose tests were interrupted due to system-related problems.

JAMB also stated that it was working with relevant stakeholders to investigate the glitches and ensure that the affected CBT centres are properly fixed before the rescheduled sessions take place.

The board further advised candidates to remain calm and avoid panic, noting that official updates concerning the rescheduled examinations would be communicated through the appropriate channels.

The development comes as thousands of candidates across Nigeria continue to sit for the UTME, which is one of the key requirements for admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in the country.

JAMB’s reassurance is expected to ease concerns among parents and candidates who feared that the disruptions could affect their performance or lead to unfair outcomes.
