1. How to Check MTN Data Balance Using USSD Codes

The most straightforward method to check your MTN data balance is by using USSD codes. Here are the steps:

  • Dial *323*4#: This is the primary USSD code to check your data balance on MTN. After dialing, you will receive an SMS with details of your remaining data balance.

2. How to Check MTN Data Balance Using the MTN Mobile App

The MTN Nigeria mobile app, known as myMTN App, provides a convenient way to manage your account, including checking your data balance:

  • Download the App: Available on the Google Play Store for Android or the App Store for iOS.
  • Log In or Register: Use your MTN number to log in or sign up if you’re a new user.
  • Check Balance: Navigate to the dashboard where your data balance is prominently displayed along with other account details.

3. How to Check MTN Data Balance Using MTN Online Self-Service Portal

For those who prefer using a web browser, the MTN Self-Care Portal offers a quick way to check your balance:

  • Visit the MTN Self-Care Portal: Go to www.mymtn.com.ng.
  • Log In: Enter your MTN number to access your account.
  • Navigate to Data Balance: Once logged in, you can easily check your data balance and see the validity period of your current plan.

MTN also allows you to check your data balance through SMS:

  • Text ‘2’ to 312: Send the digit ‘2’ to the shortcode 312, and you’ll receive an SMS with your data balance details.

5. How to Check MTN Data BalanceUsing MTN Chat Bot – Zigi

Zigi, MTN’s chatbot, provides an interactive way to check your data balance:

  • On WhatsApp: Add Zigi to your contacts using the number +2349033000001, then send a message to Zigi on WhatsApp. Follow the prompts to check your data balance.
  • MTN Website: You can also access Zigi on the MTN website by clicking on the chat widget and following the instructions to check your balance.

6. How to Check MTN Data Balance Via Customer Care

If you’re facing issues with the methods above or prefer speaking to someone, MTN’s customer care is available:

  • Dial 300: From your MTN line, dial 300 to speak with a customer care representative who can assist you in checking your data balance.

7. Checking Data Balance on Routers and Mifi

If you’re using MTN data on a router or Mifi device:

  • Log Into Your Router/Mifi: Access the admin panel via your web browser, usually at 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.
  • Check the Usage Tab: Navigate to the ‘Status’ or ‘Usage’ section to view your data balance.

8. Checking MTN Data Balance for Gifted Data

If someone has gifted you data, you can keep track of your gifted balance as well:

  • Dial *323*4#: This USSD code specifically checks the balance of data gifted to you by another MTN subscriber.
